SparkDay ("we", "our", "us") is a family productivity app built by Uplift Sols. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use SparkDay.

1. Information We Collect

Parent/Adult accounts:

• Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
• Display name
• Optional interests and preferences (meal, schedule, wellness settings)
• Calendar events, tasks, and meal plans you create
• Push notification token (for reminders)
• Approximate location (only when you use the weather feature, never stored)

Teen accounts:

• A self-chosen display label (nickname)
• A self-chosen PIN for login
• Calendar events and tasks the teen creates

We do not collect teen email, phone number, birthdate, legal name, or location data.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalize app features (scheduling, meal planning, morning briefings)
• To send push notification reminders you configure
• To deliver account verification emails
• To show local weather and clothing suggestions (location used transiently, not stored)

3. AI-Powered Features

Some features — including meal planning, outfit suggestions, calendar scanning, and recipe generation — use a third-party AI service (Anthropic Claude) to process your content. When you use these features, relevant data such as meal preferences, calendar text, or uploaded photos is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing.

Anthropic does not use your data to train their models. No data is shared with AI services unless you actively use an AI-powered feature.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to provide app functionality:

• Open-Meteo — weather data from your location
• Google Calendar — if you choose to connect it (adults only)
• Resend — to deliver verification emails
• Expo — for push notifications
• Apple Sign-In — for authentication on iOS

Your data is only shared with these services as needed for their specific function.

5. What We Don't Do

• We do not display ads
• We do not sell your data
• We do not profile teens in third-party analytics
• We do not share teen data with third parties
• We do not use cookies or web tracking in the app

6. Parental Controls

Parents create and manage family accounts. They can review schedules, reset teen PINs, remove family members, and permanently delete teen accounts at any time.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

SparkDay is designed with children's privacy in mind. Teen accounts are created by parent invitation only (using invite codes). We collect minimal data from teen users (display label and PIN only). Parents can delete teen accounts and all associated data at any time.

8. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS. We do not use custom encryption beyond standard TLS.

9. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Parents can also delete teen accounts from the Family management screen. Once deleted, data cannot be recovered.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of SparkDay after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
